Orchesis Audition Information

Auditions for the Orchesis Dance Company are held each year during the first full week of classes in fall semester. On Tuesday night, a mandatory informational meeting covers the course requirements of the Orchesis Dance Company - DANC3345/DANC3346. Permission numbers are provided to dancers who are invited to join the company.

On Thursday night, a panel composed of the Orchesis directors and student interns watch dancers learn and perform short combination in the Ballet, Modern, and Contemporary Jazz genres. Audition results are posted by midnight on the Cal Poly Orchesis Facebook and Instagram accounts.

All audition-related activities are held in the Moon Ja Minn Suhr Dance Studio. The studio is located in Building 60, Room 6 - across from the Mustang Stadium and next to the Crandall Gym women's locker room and restroom.

Audition: Thursday, August 27th, 2026, at 6:00pm - Moon Ja Minn Suhr Dance Studio, Bldg. 60, Rm. 6

REQUIREMENTS

You must attend the informational meeting on Tuesday prior to auditioning and fill out the required forms. If you have other classes scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, you will not be able to do Orchesis.
