About Irene Kleinbauer

Originally from Orcutt, CA, Irene Kleinbauer has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, social dance, ballroom, flamenco and various folk dance. She has been privileged to perform professionally with Invertigo Dance Theatre, BodyCurrent, and work with artists, such as Laura Karlin, Gerald Casel, Lorin Johnson, Sophie Monat, Keith Johnson, Andrew Vaca, and Michael Blake.

Irene received her A.A. in Dance at Allan Hancock College and her B.F.A. in Dance from CSU Long Beach. She has studied with Northwest Dance Project, Ballet Hispanico, Colorado Ballet, and the Kirov Academy in Washington D.C. Irene has been a 1st place recipient of the Santa Barbara Ballet Competition and the Santa Maria Arts Council Award.

Some of Irene's teaching and choreographic opportunities have been with Invertigo Dance Theatre, Dellos Dance Studios, Ballet Hispanico, Allan Hancock College, Taco Bell, musical theater, and wedding dances! She currently teaches jazz dance and contemporary dance at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and is the owner/director of KleinDance Arts in Santa Maria, CA.
