About Katy Dore 

Katy Dore teaches Acting for Camera in the Department of Theatre and Dance. She is a SAG-Aftra actor, screenwriter, and director working in film and television.

As a performer, Katy has appeared in numerous television, film, and stage productions including Netflix’s recent hit Forever and horror film sensation Like Dogs. Her stage work includes leading roles in Man of La ManchaOn Golden Pond, and Bryony Lavery’s Frozen. In addition to her acting career, she writes and directs for film and television.

Katy’s directing work has received international recognition, including twelve Best Director awards at film festivals worldwide. She is currently developing two television series and several feature films.

She holds an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Stanford University, with an emphasis in American theater and art.

Her teaching focuses on on-camera performance technique, script analysis, and introducing actors to practices and ettiquette in film and television production environments.
